Notice of the Annual General Meeting of Love’s Farm Community Centre CIO (Love’s Farm House)

The Trustees and Members of the Love’s Farm Community Centre CIO, working as Love’s Farm House, are hereby convened to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the year 2020-21 on Friday 12 November 2021 at 7.45pm.

Venue: Love’s Farm House, 17 Kester Way, St Neots PE19 6SL

Members of the public are welcome to attend.

Our AGM will be held in conjunction with Love’s Farm Community Association and the bar will be open. There will be an opportunity to sign up as a member on the night, and members will elect the Trustees and Officers of Love’s Farm House during the evening.

There is a requirement for one third of the Trustee Board to step down at each AGM. The following candidates are standing for election as Trustees:

Sian Hatt

Lara Davenport-Ray

The Trustees propose an alteration to the Charity’s Constitution at Section 7 to read:

A charity trustee must:

1) Declare the nature and extent of any interest, direct or indirect, which he or she has in a proposed transaction or arrangement with the CIO or in any transaction or arrangement entered into by the CIO which has not previously been declared; and

2) At the discretion of the non-conflicted Trustees, by majority vote, may be required to absent himself or herself from any discussions of the charity trustees in which it is possible that a conflict of interest will arise between his or her duty to act solely in the interests of the CIO and any personal interest (including but not limited to any financial interest).

Any charity trustee with a conflict of interest, whether or not he or she has been required to absent himself or herself from any discussions in accordance with this clause, must not vote or be counted as part of the quorum in any decision of the charity trustees on the matter.

The proposed amendments are underlined in the text above. A copy of the current Constitution of Love’s Farm Community Centre CIO, where the current text of the above clause can be seen, can be found here.

The proposal should be considered by the Members at the Annual General Meeting.

We look forward to seeing you at the AGM.

Half Term Fun at Love’s Farm House

Love’s Farm House is the place to be this October half term!

Combining gymnastics elements with dance, acro dance is a great way to burn off some energy!

Half term week kicks off with Inspirations Dance’s Acro & Street Dance Holiday Workshop. If your child loves bouncing around the house doing handstands and cartwheels, this could be the club for them – and save your furniture in the process! The workshop runs from 10am-12noon on Tuesday 26 October. Click here or contact office@inspirations.dance for more information and to book your space.

Little Princes and Princesses will love the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Ball!

On Thursday 28 October 10.30am-12.30pm, the Love’s Farm House hall will be transformed into a beautiful ballroom where little princes and princesses can join Cinderella and Aurora for dancing, fun and games, a craft activity and live performances from the princesses. There will also be a delicious lunchbox to enjoy. Tickets to the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Ball cost £25 and can be purchased by emailing hello@limelightentertainmentuk.com or messaging their Facebook page.

The Library Presents: The Unexpected Adventures of Darwin the Chimp – coming to Love’s Farm House at half term!

There’s something a bit different on Friday 29 October, when the award-winning Ditto Theatre Company will be bringing their new show, The Unexpected Adventures of Darwin the Chimp, to Love’s Farm House. Suitable for families with children aged 5+, the show is an adventure of friendship and family and what it means to be home. The show is organised by The Library Presents, click here to book your tickets (making sure to select the Friday performance) or pop in to your local library.

Spooks & Sparkles – a not-so-scary Halloween party!

On Halloween itself, Emmabelle’s Princess Parties will be hosting two spoooooooky events. The Spooks and Sparkles Halloween Party from 12.45pm-2.15pm is a not-so-scary Halloween event hosted by the Mermaid Princess and the Lilypad Princess. Braver children will enjoy Once Upon a Wicked Halloween from 3.30pm-5pm, where two amazing Villain Kid (VK) hosts will be leading proceedings. Both events will include live singing and dancing performances, follow-along dancing, party snacks and a treat bag to take home. The events each cost £17 per child and tickets can be purchased here.
