Easter at Love’s Farm House

School’s almost out for Easter and we’re EGGstra excited for spring shenanigans at Love’s Farm House!

There will be Easter fun for all the family at our Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday 8th April from 10am-1pm. The Farm House Cafe will be serving Easter cakes and cupcakes as well as our usual hot drinks and signature sausage rolls, and (with thanks to Limelight Entertainment) the Easter Bunny will be hopping in to see us!

There will be an Easter Egg Hunt around the building to entertain the kids while parents relax with a cuppa. Entry to the cafe is free, the Easter Egg Hunt costs £2 per child and includes a boxed chocolate egg. To guarantee your child’s Egg Hunt space, get your tickets in advance from our ticket page. There may be a small number of tickets to buy on the day, depending on Easter Egg availability!

If you didn’t get enough chocolate for Easter, Chocolate Bingo will be returning on Thursday 13th April. It’s bingo Love’s Farm style, playing for chocolate instead of cash, and with Love’s Farm’s signature bingo calls. Doors open at 6pm, eyes down at 6.30. £1 per person for a book of 10 games, bring your own snacks / drinks and don’t forget your pens and change! More info here.

And if you’re looking for something to entertain the kids over the holidays, we have not one, not two, but THREE children’s craft clubs open for booking.

Silver Rock Designs will be returning with their regular school holiday craft clubs on Tuesdays 4th (1.15-2.45pm) and 11th (10.15-11.45pm) April. Children will get stuck into a range of themed crafts, so make sure they dress for mess! On the 4th, the crafts will be Easter themed; on the 11th, it will be all about spring. The workshops are aimed at ages 5+ and cost £8 per child. Spaces must be booked in advance by messaging their Facebook Page or emailing silver-rock@hotmail.co.uk.

On Thursday 6th April from 12.15-1.45pm we have a BRAND NEW children’s creative workshop from Arty Kids. At the Little Grand Master Finger Painting Workshop, children will be learning about colours by blending and mixing using their fingers. They will also learn about perspective and mood using classic masterpieces as a template. At the end of the session, children will come home with their completed work and a certificate. The workshop is for ages 5-10 and costs £12 per child, including all materials and use of an apron. Book your child’s space here.

The Farm House Bar will be continuing the Easter celebrations with themed cocktails at Cocktails and Karaoke on 7th April. On 14th April, come along to Jam Night for an evening of music making and fun. It couldn’t be any more informal, just bring or pick up an instrument, and we always need singers to help us remember where we’ve got to in the song! The Farm House Bar is open from 7.30pm every Friday, visit our Facebook page for more details of bar events.

And finally, there’s a handful of tickets left for Murder at the Theatre – A Murder Mystery Evening on Saturday 15th April from 7.45pm. Come along for an evening of entertainment and intrigue, and help Inspector Darcy Meltoya investigate the clues, interrogate the suspects and solve the murder. Tickets cost £25 per person (including a glass of prosecco or soft drink on arrival) and teams can be up to 8 people. Get your tickets here.

The Hall Gets a Refresh thanks to Tesco & GENCO Construction Services

We’d like to say a huge thank you to Tesco and GENCO Construction Services for repainting the Love’s Farm House hall!

When Tesco planned their refurbishment of the Tesco Express store on Love’s Farm, they reached out to us to find out whether Love’s Farm House could benefit from any redecorating at the same time. We were more than happy to say yes!

The paint in the hall was looking very scuffed and faded. Most of the hall hadn’t been repainted since the building opened in 2015 because the walls were too high to access, even with a ladder.

Tesco and GENCO Construction kindly provided a team of workers, as well as a scissor lift, to repaint the hall from top to bottom. They went above and beyond the call of duty by fitting the work into the gaps in our schedule so that none of our activities were disrupted.

The work was finished just in time for everyone to enjoy at the Valentine’s Disco!

Jenny Bishop, General Manager of Love’s Farm House, said “we are incredibly grateful to Tesco and GENCO for supporting us with this project and helping to maintain this great space for everyone in our community to use.”

Have a look at our What’s On Guide or Events page to find out when you can come along and make the most of our refreshed hall.
