Tickets are £25 in advance from our online store, or in person from the Love’s Farm House office (weekdays 9am to 3pm, 9am to 12pm during school holidays).

SMALL PRINT: Over 18s only; under 25s will need ID on the door. Sorry, no refunds. Whiskies shown above may not be what is included on the night (but if gives a good idea). Admittedly, 12 July isn’t midsummer night, but you’re also getting more than one dram.

 

Belgian Beer Tasting at the Farm House Bar

Friday  July, 8pm – midnight

Shume-beers cropLove’s Farm House is teaming up with Shume, the new bottle emporium in Cross Keys Mews, St Neots, for an evening of Belgian delicacies. Tickets cost £10 and include samples of five Belgian beers and five cheeses. Belgian beer specialist Bart Verhaeghe, who has 30 years experience working in the industry will be sharing his knowledge.

Shume’s full range of over 50 Belgian beers will also be available to buy (and share) by the bottle, as well as plenty of cheese and schnapps. If you’re really lucky we might even throw in some Belgian pop music. Proost!

GIN LAB

Friday 22 September, 8pm, Love’s Farm House

Gin Lab

Join us on a voyage of scientific discovery into the world of gin. We’ll be lining up ten bottles for you to try, from well-known premium tipples to boutique curiosities. Which blend of botanicals floats your boat? We’ll be using the power of science to help you sharpen your taste buds as you gain infinite wisdom and power over the humble juniper berry.

Tickets cost £20 per person and include a taste of ten gins, plus two double gins and tonic so you can continue your empirical studies just a little more. More drinks will be available at the bar.

The Farm House Bar

Love’s Farm House plays host to baby and toddler groups, youth clubs, exercise classes and much more besides, but at 7:30pm every Friday night it turns into the Farm House Bar. We have a great selection of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks at reasonable prices. Children (accompanied by a carer) are welcome until 9pm. There are lots of extra activities to keep you entertained, too…

The first Friday of each month is Karaoke Night. We have 1,280 songs from A-ha to Zayn, a superb sound system and disco lights, plus lyrics projected onto our cinema screen so everyone can join in for the choruses. With impromptu breakdance battles and outbreaks of interpretive dance, Karaoke at the Farm House Bar is an experience like no other.

The second Friday of the month is Games Night. Come with friends or make some new ones. We have table tennis, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Risk, chess, backgammon, draughts and Taboo, or bring your own game – we’re always up for something new.

St Neots Film Club

On the third Friday of the month, the Farm House Bar is open as normal, while the hall is host to St Neots Film Club. Recent films include Inception, Groundhog Day and an evening of silent films accompanied by live music. 8pm start, £2.50 entry fee, and stick around afterwards for our post-film discussion.

The last Friday of the month is Quiz Night. We take it in turns to write and host the quiz, so whether you’re an expert on the reproductive cycle of the natterjack toad or who’s dating who in Hollyoaks, you’ve probably got as much chance as anyone else. It’s £1 to play, with teams of up to six people. Don’t have a team? There’s always one you can join, and it’s a great chance to meet your neighbours.

We have a rolling programme of art exhibitions on the walls of our bar area. Our current exhibition is by photographer Nigel Northwood. Visit us throughout March to see his series of photos of abandoned buildings. Please get in touch if you’d like to stage your own exhibition.

LFCA Socials

These informal get-togethers give Love’s Farm Community Association (LFCA) committee members, Street Reps, councillors and residents a chance to chat, share a drink and discuss how we can make Love’s Farm an even better place to live. Bar staff required

Love’s Farm House requires part-time bar staff. Shifts will be on an ad hoc basis, mostly on Friday and Saturday evenings. You may also be required to perform caretaking duties, such as opening and closing the building and looking after hirers.

Preferred skills and qualities:

  • friendly and outgoing
  • a willingness to work as part of a team
  • suitable judgement and confidence to enforce licencing regulations
  • good numeracy skills
  • awareness of health, safety, security and hygiene issues
  • available to work evenings and weekends

Shifts may vary from two to seven hours, depending on the booking schedule. £8 per hour.

Launch Festival: Full Details

It’s just a few days to go until Love’s Farm House opens its doors for the very first time. Here’s the low-down on activities you can take part in during our Launch Festival week (plus a few that start the week after). A huge thanks to St Neots Town Council and our session providers for helping us offer the majority of Launch Festival events for free.


Saturday 24 October

LFH LFCASaturday 4pm: Love’s Farm Expo
Free

Our first event is your chance to see the building, meet the people who will be hosting activities and find out about the projects Love’s Farm Community Association (LFCA) is running across Love’s Farm. There will be craft activities, a barbecue and we’ll be burying a time capsule in the garden. Please bring your submissions for the time capsule (must fit into a 90x55mm envelope) by 5pm. Please bring a pre-loved item of clothing to turn into bunting to decorate our venue.

At 6pm we’ll be hosting the LFCA AGM. There’ll be a couple of speeches and voting in of the chair, secretary and treasurer. It’s a great opportunity to find out what LFCA does and how you can get involved.

At 6:30pm there’ll be live music from Parson’s Nose followed by the LFCA Community Champion Awards, a barn dance and disco until midnight, so bring your dancing shoes.
