Easter Magic Show

Mr Marvel FB banner

Roll up, roll up… Love’s Farm House and Marvel Entertainments present an afternoon of magic, balloon modelling, Punch & Judy and bubble disco!

The show lasts two hours and is suitable for children aged 3-7. Tickets are £5 per child, available in advance from Love’s Farm House. Pop in or call Jenny on 01480 262626 (Mon-Fri 9am-3pm). The entry price includes refreshments for the children.

Children MUST be accompanied by an adult (the coffee shop will be open too). Adults, babies (under 1 years) and older siblings (over 12) don’t need a ticket.

The Farm House Bar

Love’s Farm House plays host to baby and toddler groups, youth clubs, exercise classes and much more besides, but at 7:30pm every Friday night it turns into the Farm House Bar. We have a great selection of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks at reasonable prices. Children (accompanied by a carer) are welcome until 9pm. There are lots of extra activities to keep you entertained, too…

karaoke-6Karaoke at the Farm House Bar

The first Friday of each month is Karaoke Night. We have 1,280 songs from A-ha to Zayn, a superb sound system and disco lights, plus lyrics projected onto our cinema screen so everyone can join in for the choruses. With impromptu breakdance battles and outbreaks of interpretive dance, Karaoke at the Farm House Bar is an experience like no other.

games-nightGames Night

The second Friday of the month is Games Night. Come with friends or make some new ones. We have table tennis, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Risk, chess, backgammon, draughts and Taboo, or bring your own game – we’re always up for something new.

St Neots Film Club

On the third Friday of the month, the Farm House Bar is open as normal, while the hall is host to St Neots Film Club. Recent films include Inception, Groundhog Day and an evening of silent films accompanied by live music. 8pm start, £2.50 entry fee, and stick around afterwards for our post-film discussion.

lfh-1st-birthday-26LFCA Quiz Night

The last Friday of the month is Quiz Night. We take it in turns to write and host the quiz, so whether you’re an expert on the reproductive cycle of the natterjack toad or who’s dating who in Hollyoaks, you’ve probably got as much chance as anyone else. It’s £1 to play, with teams of up to six people. Don’t have a team? There’s always one you can join, and it’s a great chance to meet your neighbours.

p1060006Farm House Gallery

We have a rolling programme of art exhibitions on the walls of our bar area. Our current exhibition is by photographer Nigel Northwood. Visit us throughout March to see his series of photos of abandoned buildings. Please get in touch if you’d like to stage your own exhibition.

LFCA Socials

These informal get-togethers give Love’s Farm Community Association (LFCA) committee members, Street Reps, councillors and residents a chance to chat, share a drink and discuss how we can make Love’s Farm an even better place to live. Check out the What’s On page or follow LFCA and Love’s Farm House on Facebook for the next date and for all upcoming events.

Library at Love’s Farm

microlibraryDid you know that there is now a ‘Little Library’ at the Farm House, set up by St Neots Library and the trustees of Love’s Farm House, from which you can borrow books on an informal basis without actually having to be a member of Cambridgeshire Libraries?

You will find:

  • board books for babies
  • picture books to share with young children
  • children’s stories by popular authors such as David Walliams and Francesca Simon
  • novels for young people
  • fiction for adults
  • a selection of magazines (thanks to bpha)

To borrow a book, simply pop in to Love’s Farm House during opening hours, which include every morning, Monday – Saturday – choose some books from the library and write down in the Loans Book which ones you are taking to enjoy at home.

There is no fixed time limit as to how long you can keep the books, but please return them as soon as you have finished with them, then someone else can enjoy them!

We launched the library at the start of the summer holidays with Matty Long, winner of the Cambridgeshire Libraries ‘Read it Again’ picture book award, and since then over 140 books have been borrowed from the collection, which is wonderful!

We hope that the library will be enjoyed and much used by the Love’s Farm Community and that many of you will also come down and join St Neots Library where you can choose from thousands more books and use our computers – all for free!

May we remind families who did borrow books over the summer, to return them if you have finished sharing them at home – making sure you write in the Loans Book that you have brought them back. Then enjoying choosing some different ones to borrow!
